Born in Yei River, South Sudan, Monica Majak confronted and conquered numerous challenges during her upbringing, which she has since converted to a constant appreciation of each current day. Raised for many years in a small village by her grandparents and the eldest of seven children, Monica came to the US in 2013 through her mother, who worked multiple jobs to support her family. As a result, Monica and her siblings were able to live happy lives, which she has never taken for granted. She attended high school in Chandler, Arizona, where she ran track and helped her family with her own part-time jobs before being scouted. Now that Monica has an opportunity to cultivate a career in fashion, she hopes to continue taking care of her loved ones in return. Her ultimate goal is to return to South Sudan and assist homeless children, as well as refugees.
